Description
Only one genus of truly solid red butterfly exists and that is Cymothoe of central Africa. Though relatively common in Central African Republic, Cameroun, Gabon, Tanzania and Nigeria, this particularly delicate, agressive butterfly is rarely encountered in pristine condition. Conflicts and competition among newly emerged adults quickly deteriorate the aesthetic qualities of Cymothoe, therefore, only freshly emerged specimens can be utilized.
