Cicada Duo (8×10)
There are about 2500 different species of Cicadas in the world, most of which closely resemble gigantic flies. They are in fact, a completely different order with an entirely unique life cycle. Cicadas are known in some locales are known as “dry flies” because they shed a dry empty exoskeleton that can be mistaken for a living cicada when they molt.
Most of the world’s cicadas have transparent wings, like that of a fly. Only a few tropical species feature colorful wings with ornate markings.
